Gerald D. Raymond

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” –John Fitzgerald Kennedy
About Jerry

Jerry has nearly three decades of experience practicing law in Central New York. He also has over three decades of experience as an educator at the middle school, high school, and college levels. His passion for education, along with his personal experience as the step-parent of a special needs child, has led to the development of an extensive Education Law practice throughout New York State. His practice includes representation of parents and students in the 504 and IEP process, as well as representation of students in disciplinary matters involving special education and non-special education students. Jerry also handles disciplinary and academic issues for college students as well, including Title IX matters.

Jerry’s practice areas also include Landlord and Tenant matters, Civil Litigation, Criminal Defense, Matrimonial and Family Law, Estate Planning and Probate, Real Estate, and business matters including LLC formation and document drafting.

Before joining Nave Law Firm, Jerry was the Managing Partner in the Syracuse Office of Tully Rinckey, PLLC, where he supervised a six-attorney office while maintaining his practice areas. Before that, Jerry was the Managing Partner at Baum and Raymond Law Office in Chittenango, New York. He also spent 15 years as a Senior Attorney with the Oneida Indian Nation Legal Department, representing Nation Members in General Practice Legal matters throughout Central New York. Jerry is also the former President of the Madison County Bar Association.

In addition to his middle school and high school teaching experience, Jerry has taught at Onondaga Community College, Utica School of Commerce, and Bryant & Stratton College.

Jerry prides himself on taking the time to listen to his clients and form strategies specific to their needs. His experience has taught him that there is no “one size fits all” solution in legal matters. Over his career, he has also forged professional relationships that give him the ability to know where to go to get answers to tough questions promptly.
